TFWP Tx 27th December 2018

Well, before 2018 disappears let’s stick a transmission note in, shall we.

This episode of Fused was based around the UK Top 20 for the Christmas week between 1977-1982 inclusive. We pulled a selection of tracks from the 120 songs available, all of which were played, contemporaneously, in the oft mentioned 007 Club.

For those unaware, the 007 was a club owned by ex-boxer Brian London, it had been in other locations but at the time of being frequented it was on Topping Street, Blackpool. The basement was a post-punk haven and ostensibly the birthplace of the alternative scene in Blackpool.

If memory serves, the 007 closed down in 1982 but we took the liberty to include Xmas ’82 in the playlist.

Anyhoo, the point of this note (as the recording is incomplete due to mic dropouts) is to list the tracks along with their respective chart positions over the Xmas week in their respective years.
